Never Really Gone

You never had to travel blind,
all you really had to do
was turn around to find
I was right behind you
all the while I travel too.

You never really lost me
and I didn't lose my way,
just stopped awhile for coffee,
I caught up later in the day
before dusk went away.

Sometimes I forget who you are
for remembering who you were
please forgive and understand
when I get that mental blur,
yes, change must occur.

And though sometimes you feel alone,
question anger at the dawn,
you may look back on your way home,
see nothing, and carry on...

just know
I am

never really gone.

"Sometimes I forget who you are
for remembering who you were"

So very well said, Dixie. I don't think I've changed that much in my ideas and attitudes but I surely can see the changes in others.  Got me thinking now that maybe I have - would hope for the better though.

"And though sometimes you feel alone,

This got a Springsteen feel to it, so does the picture in the end, I love Springsteen, and so I loved this

The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!"
