Between the Lines

Yesterdays' Pressures

Yesterdays' pressures stay with me,
experience the guide.
Knowing what I know...
does not help the pain denied.

You put on a smiling face,
pretending your world is just fine.
And when he asks " how are you?"
it's hidden between each line.

You enter each day at the crossroads
and each night with tongue in cheek.
Your heart hears the thunder and pounding.
Your eyes see through tears, lightning's streak.

It sparks the stormy memories,
the electric feel and the thrill
when touching of lips in the waiting
is a flashback of every "until".

But those pressures keep paths on the straightway,
keeps you hopeful blue skies are ahead.
And the sunshine is there for the warming
bringing alive what was once thought dead.

Yes, those pressures seem to always be there. This is beautifully expressed, my friend.
