Like mourners together in the open air
the trees have nothing to say
and there’s no breeze today to help me believe
the spark of life is still burning bright
beyond my human eye sight
turned inwards now into my own plight
of grieving the lack of wind through my hair.

No crime of mine has stilled the wind
to leave the trees somber and sad
yet if only, if only, I’d been someone else
my seeds might have blossomed and grown
and this is the thought that deeply wounds
the perceived to be dead and the now alive.

I stand somehow in mental attunement
with the mystery of death’s dark shadow
and smile because I’ve caught the vibe
of a vibrant and beautiful woman
blowing kisses of love to a father
with the heart of a little girl
but she turns to me as a woman
and welcomes me into the scene.

And now when I sleep a touch on my cheeks
foretells of a plan come together
there in the air where she’s happy and free
to blossom her spirit of soul …
but I’m counting my sleeps until total belief
blows again the wind through my hair!

Helen

I believe I understand what you are feeling.  All I can say for comfort is that time moves on, and soon the breeze will sift your hair in the air and repair.

You express yourself so well!  I can see and feel the stillness and drying of the trees.  Wishing you many gentle breezes.

Nice write Honeybunch.
You have a way of pulling the reader
along verse by verse.
This one sings.

Thank you all so much for the read.  This may sing but the sting of a dream can live as if alive in the mind.  And, Martie - yes, time does move on ... and on and on and on!

Nicely done!  Isn't it funny how nature relates to everything going on in the world within us?  I like it...

Hi, Sweetberry - No, it's not strange at all because we're all in the world together.  I'm just happy that I'm not a tree though!

LeeJ - It would be even more amazing if you knew (and if I knew) exactly where the thought behind this came from.  Wherever and however I still had to search through the rubble of heart to find the positive.  Thank you so much for your encouragement.

Always it is good to have a plan.

Thank you, Jo, The Lady, icebox!  Plans are such fickle things, you know, and behave as two year old kids screaming one minute determined to win and then rushing off to another adventure.
