“There’s a gap in your history”
but the card up my sleeve was to know
that I’ve now learnt the feel of a lie
and I felt it then rising steadily up
from a lifetime of dormancy.

It didn’t quite burst but slid with ease
into the task of embellishment
and after handling that with aplomb
gave a most valid performance
of twisting the truth to advantage …
and, oh, I was proud of this display
made possible by my absorption
into the feel of human beings.

So there, that’s done – I’m an “I” person
expounding on my own achievements
and promising all and everything
from the base of my many strengths
and isn’t that just like love
when embroiled in the business of lust?

The gap remains but I’ve scored untold
in the knowing what mothers produce
in the time of supposedly nothing
to further a working career.

Time tells all and there will be more
to fill up the pages of spirit c.v.’s
but I still wonder if love is the way
to access that mystical heaven
when down on the ground it opens no door
to financial security.

The mothers, the lovers; that’s it, you see,
we’re merely the gaps in history!

Hi, icebox - Thanks for the read!  Yeah, to be a gap in history is to feel the draft of real whistling through the passages of what was meant to be!

You are amazing, my friend!  What a fabulous way to say it!  Hey, but I think yet, we have a stronger role coming.   ....jo

Oh Wow, Jo!  What can be stronger than a mother who loves?  I don't think I'm up to ... more!  Thanks, my friend, for the read! Have a good weekend.
