Ballad of Katie Marie

06 March 2006

The Ballad of Katie Marie
and her brown eyes that did shine
A wonder of beauty as to her daughter
in an age to reason in destined time

Her heart was everything pure
when life was no smooth road
That gravel in her shoes to tread
this wonder - this beauty - Katie Marie

Like a new berry to ripen in fruit
her river of banks to wander
Each turn - each current
those murky waters beneath

She was strong - a soul determined
this wonder - this love
So goes the ballad
of Katie Marie

“Arithmetic is being able to count
up to twenty without taking off your shoes.”
Mickey Mouse (1928 - )
US Disney cartoon entertainer
