"I have nothing more to say to you."
and the pages fell on the floor,
the empty words I read outloud,
"Never more, shall I re-enter your door."

The dark night was ominous, foreboding.
How could this be happening to me?
Our love was beyond all doubt, I thought.
My mouth opened in a shout of agony.
"NO! This cannot be your heart speaking to me!"

In a crushing moment, a heavy stagnant breeze
found me down upon my bended knees,
clutching those horrid papers in a shaky hand,
feeling like I was at Custer’s last stand,
with no one left to mourn my demise.

Twas then my eyes suddenly realized
the name on the envelope was not mine.
Oh, my poor neighbor.

G'day midnightesun.  Now that was a captivating and come in spinner piece.  Reminds me of a mate of mine who went out on the town and came home with the wobbly boot in the early hours of the morning and as he finally climbed into bed and gave the mrs a cuddle he looked out the window and thought how much the house across the road looked like his.

Really enjoyed this one.

You adorable little munchkin!

A captivating read with a very unexpected ending!

I suppose there is a moral to your story! Laughing Baby

nope, Linda, no morals or immorals, just a story, based partly on a true incident, though the letter was written in vulgarities,  so I sanitized it

I'm glad everyone seemed to like the play on this, except perhaps the rightful receiver of the letter in question. Thanks for reading!

whew....tough sometimes is the letter.....nice Kacy...

And so it those we live with
and should know who elude us
But we can still love them
we can love completely
without complete understanding
