~*~

I wonder why you left
where have you gone so faraway
cast off behind the sun setting
from warm sands and simple dreams.

Time floats like a message in a bottle
escaping beyond the windless sea
and ripple of waves that break a heart
without missing a single beat.

There is a brand new dawn, disquised
leaving faint images behind my eyes
and all that's left to memory
clear as the day dreams I have memorized.

Like every diamond shimmers
if only for the moment, still
slow dancing on a summer breeze
stringing seashells along the shore.

Rolling back the tides
I built a castle near a cove
taking turns with each new moon
that sways me in it's cradle.

An endless kind of love
that slipped away too soon
serenades me in the dark
near the surface of a tear.

Lovely write, Bluesy, but this -

"An endless kind of love
that slipped away too soon
serenades me in the dark
near the surface of a tear."

simply stunning!  And here go my own tears slipping into daylight!

Such gentle sadness...there's a beautiful heart showing in this one, dear Lori...one that should not have to come to these things.

Wow do I know this one!  I have grown to be convinced that the tears never really stop, they just go into remission for bits of time.

A great write my friend!  Thank you for sharing it.

"near the surface of a tear"

A masterful line!

Lori, this made such a beautiful picture
in my mind. I love the beach and seashells.

It's good to read your poetry, Sweetie.

Ethel

and should know who elude us
But we can still love them

Hi Lori

"An endless kind of love
that slipped away too soon
serenades me in the dark
near the surface of a tear."

I want to think that the endless kind of love, really really is endless.  I believe it is...but sometimes yes, it is so sad that it cries.
