Scars of Poetic Vice

26 March 2006

Fame was death
poetry was not to be alive
For whom was to gain reward
a dead poet - memory payment of kind

This life time - a period adverse
veins drained and stripped of blood
Words scratched as scars festering
void of ways to heal - an eternal reality

Deep gauges unmeasured
prisons locked away
Taken like sateen to rejoice
painted black and white

Ink spread in pigment smudged
representative of mobile pride
A receptacle of bile to deliver
upon a platter - a platter of gold words

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain
also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”
Acts 17: 28 KJV

a poet who cares
