                       I
                         feel
                       it
             slipping

             All slipping away

          Brain is bubbling, boiling
and the skull is filling up with steam
                  m i s t
                   I am
               losing my mind
HA!
       "My"  Mind
As if it belongs to me.
Like "my car"
     "my shoe"
some...possession

When in truth... This "me" belongs to it.
So?       HA!
          Am "I" losing....Mind?
          or
          is Mind losing..."ME"
          HA!
          I don't care.   I really don't
             Take it!   Take it all!

                Who was that?

                 No Matter
   Let it boil.  condensate.   evaporate.
Ego is taking a scalding hot shower.
It keeps trying to write its name in the mist that has
         formed on the surrounding surfaces
But, its marks can only be seen if it writes
upon the veiled transparency of the shower door.
And in trying to make its mark upon the clear glass...
it also removes the layer of mist and the transparency
               shows once again.
HA!
It defeats itself.
Finally...it withers in the heat
and is dissolved by the pulsating drops that pound it.
Washed down the drain.
Open the shower door...
There is no one there.

Take it!
Take it all !

                Who said that?
HA!
No Matter

              Is my reflection there...
when no one is looking?

              If the mirror is smashed...shattered...

Is my reflection harmed?
The moon cast its image upon the surface of the water...
When the water dries up...
Does the moon disappear?
               Cease to exist?

And if my reflection...  is    or   isn't    harmed....
That affects
Me...
               How ?

Be at ease
It won't bother
"you"  or  "me"       much longer

             I feel it...
sl  i   pp  in    g     away

Or...
Call the doctor, I think I'm sick.

Well, there are a few proclaimed doctors around...and a few other PiPsters who are going to enjoy this read...

so don't slip away too far...

the public will soon demand more!

I like the idea of ego
taking a scalding hot shower.

Well, I for one certainly enjoyed this read!  I'm not sure either whether my mind belongs to me or whether I belong to that mind that has somehow or other attached itself to me but either way I guess we're stuck with it.  Oh, and it's not too pleasant either when the ego gets attacked!

Uriah

I am left wondering if you wrote this poem while taking a shower.  I loved it....all the bits and layers melting and steaming on the shower door.  Have you been thinking too much?  Keep it up!!

I love this piece which, of course, begs the question ... do I have water on the brain
