Thank you for all the positive feedback from my first post. I hope you all enjoy this and if you would like to read another poem from me I posted "Would You" in the critique 2 forumn. I look forward to all your responses

Are you ready to contemplate?
This thing called fate.
A preset plan,
For every man.

If in fate you believe,
Why strive to achieve?
You already have a destiny.
Your future is set,
So why do you fret?
Do you fear what you can not see?

If the future is set,
Why do we regret?
“Mistakes,” we might have made.
Wouldn’t you concur?
Fate occurred?
There was no regret to evade.

Why do we strive for wealth?
Why are we conscious of health?
When we all have a time,
To be standing in line,
While god judges himself.

For it was his plan,
It wasn’t ours.
He’s the all knowing,
Who created the stars?

He created Eve.
On that day he made her,
He became our creator,
The definitive dictator.

Doesn’t it seem unlikely?
This thing called destiny.
Were an invisible entity,
Is puppetering you and me?

Wouldn’t it be depressing?
A bit condescending?
If he wrote your whole life,
Then called it a blessing.

You've presented a most impressive piece here...
The situation and questions you've written,
all seem to make one dig much deeper into
his/her own soul to try and find the answers.

I love writings that do that!

Looking forward to reading more of your words,
Josette

Loved this!

Especially the last stanza
Wouldn’t it be depressing?
A bit condescending?
If he wrote your whole life,
Then called it a blessing.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for you.

Enjoyed your ponderings but we must never forget that within the whole of creation's destiny sits that little thing called "free will".  There may very well be a script but perhaps many lifetimes before the credits roll.  Achievement sits high on mankind's list of priorities but perhaps we owe it to ourselves to acquire that which doesn't remain behind when we take that seemingly last and final step into the mysterious "afterlife".  Just an opinion on a few of the questions you asked but thinking is always good.
Welcome to Pip!

Honeybunch,

I agree with you about free will! that is what I was striving for here. I am 23 years old i wrote this when I was 20. But I have heard peers say so much over the years that "everything happens for a reason". I agree in a sense. When people say this, they are referring to a "big picture" I believe the reason things happen are direct result of the descisions we've made. Not some preordained plan. I believe that when people say "this happened for a reason", it is just a way to make themselves or another feel more comfortable in their current situation. I question things like this. I, by no means expect others to agree with me or go against their beliefs. I just want to explain my point of view. Thank you for your response. It was much appreciated.
