The earth leans, heals up, forward
As do all of natures pious,
Skins beading warmer rain.

Pregnant buds of greening ones,
Praise the same as human masses-
Spinning silent wheels of prayer
In a warmer, closer sun,

Paying offerings in kind by nurturing,
Along each step, broader days take
Having faith in Chrysanthemum
And saffron, whose only leaves are signs
That rainbow-shade believers eyes,
With far off autumn color.

Now to old tasks, the touch of humus,
Warm and soft on fingertips, embraced
By gentle arms of southern breezes,
That have rid the mold of cold-hard ice.

Come into me, my dear sweet earth-
Penetrate my being, mind and body,
Touch my heart with ancient poetry
That drugs to vision, bountiful things,
Soon to rise above the winter trash;
That I defray by aches in tasks to reap.

The last stanza
is a prayer.

Ford, we are blessed
when you share such vision.

Thank you.

What a breath of fresh air you are...welcome back...honestly, I was just thinking of you yesterday, wondering where you and your poetry has been?  I've been missing your insightful loving must, who relates to nature and life in the same...

Hugs and thank you for returning with such outstanding imagry...

Oh, how I love the Earth, and wrapped in your words, it glows with all its truth and beauty!  What a lovely idea to pen your poem at the equinox (autumn equinox here in South Africa, but spring equinox there in America)!

Ford...I was sure I had replied to this.  I'll fix that now because it is so great to see you again.  How close you hold the earth...I feel so similar a love.

Knowing what a busy season this is for you, I am grateful for any offerings you gift us with, Ford. This is a beautiful earthy write that smells of spring.
