Through the silence
I pretend...

I smile and make up reasons
busy myself.....with life

I do fine enough
I have a strong heart you know..

until I close my eyes
find you there, in my dreaming

it leaves me undone
....that missing you ache....

I’m always gonna love you
and no matter how romantic the notion

even I know
I’m pathetic...

Well, you might settle for that self-analysis. But I prefer to call it a broken heart. Been there and time is a really good thing. Yup'am I love you from any angle.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Well, SEA, I don't think you're pathetic...to be able to write like this.  I do feel the longing and what Larry says is true.   ....jo

There is nothing....nothing at all pathetic about love....and especially not when it is expressed so humbly.

you being pathetic is akin to the
Pacific sunset being nice to look at.
you beng pathetic is like calling
the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel competent artwork.
you being pathetic is
IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!

Pathetic? Maybe just undying love... In any case, this poem certainly isn't pathetic...

I found your words almost embarressing..like you were embarrssed to speak them...and yet the words fit your feeling perfectly..you honestly said what was in your heart..and that came across...but it sounded almost like you didnt believe your own words...that ''something'' else wrote the words..and you would be right..it was your heart speaking..you cannot hide from your heart...and on this evidence it is something to be treasured..thank you for the words Sea..

Susan,

You are anything but pathetic my friend. You are a hopeless romantic, and not a thing wrong with that! Very good to read you.

Write if you get a chance.

Take care & hugs,

Amy

even the Sea burns when flying too close to the flame...

not pathetic though -- pathetic is the infatuated person who can't stop talking about how wonderful 'he' is every third minute...

this, this is the sweetness of life -- and the bitterness of loss -- we are all pathetic -- we are all magnificent

and you are glorious!

Very sorrowful, yet I can see that while longing is inevitable it is also comforting to  the soul. Once agian inspiring ICE, I missed feeling through your art.

Susan, anything you write is beautiful, just as
love is beautiful. But, I do know this feeling
of thinking of how deep a love is and possibly
not ever being able to know fully the potential
of that love.

I know how deep that hurts.
Hugs,
Ethel

Susan~
This was difficult to read only because I relate so deeply. I, too know the longing, the wondering, the dissection of 'what could have been' all too well ~ you penned this exquisitely and painfully.

It truly is one of your best, and if you don't mind, I'm going to save this in my library, keep it to myself and dedicate it to David..

I am not sure about being "pathetic..."

Even if it might feel that way

I just get reminded of this of my own, if you will allow me to share my words here

We ask ourselves
the same questions
The ones we
want to know

Were we born
does to each day
Another part of us
forward grow

What of
the departed
Those ones
we truly loved

A mother's child - a brother lost
the baby we never knew
Was this love
could it be true
