Sissy Sunshine

21 March 2006

Sissy Sunshine
and the cow jumped
over the moon
Friendships to gather
this closeness under a mushroom

Across a continent spread wide
two souls gathered and unified
Sissy Sunshine and friend
in knowing one another to depend

Their beauty as if being kin
two wonders of kind to partake
A martyr to each other in understanding
side by side in ways to proclaim

Sisters of time
assistance to one another to give
Kindness to savour in a life borne
those who live in righteousness to name

“In his days shall the righteous flourish;
and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.”
Psalms 72: 7 KJV

Sir...

It is so good to see how one reads with understanding the words of poets who have, by luck, fate, fortune, and chance, found one another, as a certain Sissy and I have found one another.  I do appreciate this poem very much.  Thank you for your sharp sense of how people find a way to friendships within PiP.  For they indeed become very special relationships, as Sissy and I both know.

Thank you.

Indeed!!  Sunshine is my sissie.  I never had a blood related sissie...and she has been as close as I imagine that would be.  Thank you for writing this, Christopher.

I only wish I could have done better in my writing.

Given most of my works and thoughts take around 3 minutes, and this one above took 24 hours and I am still left wanting.

Christopher...the writing is fine....written from the heart, seen through empathy and understanding.

Connections on this plane are not easily understood, nor seen.

Martie and I have been most fortunate in traversing the internet and finding another person so in tune with one another, that I doubt it will ever happen [to me] again.

Oops...

Nope, I have to take that back.   There are a few other poets here that special connections are sacrosanct...I was speaking of Martie from an actual meeting.

So, I need to go down the alphabet about all of the poets I have met here in my coming on seven years...

and you know what, Christopher?

I don't think Ron built a "reply" form that would hold all the names...

Passions is my poet's home, Sir.

As you continue to read, you will find many other poets to enjoy...and revere.

I often feel there are writers and readers
along with this, there being both
And for me being one who writes
yet is not a big or noted poetry reader
that puts me in a position that to admire
another persons poetry takes a major effort
and places me on the back foot in places like piptalk

I've been exactly where you are....and I can tell you that reading is more important than writing, even though writing feels more important at the time. I never liked it all that much before PiP, but now I do -- and these two of PiP's most beloved poets are among the best ones you could possibly read.

I've also learned that being so dissatisfied with the way a poem presents what you're trying to say, is a good sign that it's going to be one of your best. I think this one of yours is exceptionally good.

Yes indeed, you are "a poet who cares" ~ and shares! Your words of kinship for Sunshine and Martie, brought a huge, understanding and appreciative smile to my face!

Hugs for all three of you!
