standing on a shadow's lace

Of North

how can I let go
roots run too deep where
tears are an empty rain
with no stopping in sight
my thoughts are so green
bent almost to a break
playing in a garden of thorns
behind I see the bold reds and pinks
and all I can feel is grey
lost is
the true direction of north
planted by the moon rings
spring jumped too quickly to winter
no warmth to soothe the cold
missing is a misery not to share
so I tend this silent secret garden
alone
in the chimed echo of ache
sound struck with a velvet hammer
life goes on in a snails crawl
the silver trail as testament of stems
too tender to grasp walls going on
and going no where

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

1slick_lady,
Maybe the roots are trying to reach the other side.

This is my third trip back here to try to find the right quote and a pithy comment.

I give up.  This doesn't need my thoughts to be great writing.

Your writing needs no compass.  You're going in the right direction

"the silver trail as testament of stems
too tender to grasp walls going on
and going no where"

you just defined the pain of futility

sigh

how can sadness be so beautiful?

"planted by the moon rings" I like that one Helen. Long time since I've been around, but its nice to see some things are still unchanged.

If you're not yourself, then there is no you.
