.

Your accent fills the room
as you glance
from page to audience
reading your poetry..
The room is quiet,
uncomfortably warm
and small
but it does not matter
as I listen to your words
falling upon
cordial ears..
Afterwards
we speak about
poetry,  nature
Standing before you
I am struck by the
tranquility resting
on your face..
Peace
finds a home in you
is my thought   as I casually
end the conversation with
some polite words..
As I turn to leave
you  reach  for  my  hand
asking my name.

.

What a comfortable reading
you attended...and it serves to remind
everyone here that April is coming,
Poetry Month...

and we shall all have that opportunity
to listen, and lean into,
learn from, and, perhaps...

  hold a hand.

I would really love to hear you reading some of your beautiful poetry out loud!
What a lovely write, an honorable tribute to person who spoke that night.

Nancy, I surely would reach for your hand to ask your name if you had not already extended your heart to me!

Where you scribe ink upon your pages, I see radiance of thought, soft touches of spirit, and warmth that envelops your reader.  I'm blessed to be one of them.

hugs,
Karen

Actually, I wasn't "reaching" for your hand..I just missed my intended "grabbing" spot...

A soft and sweet gesture and a wonderful piece of writing. Your images are always so clear.

I was watching from afar ....
