…because there is something

screens                  I need the
it is made of screens               substance inside
temporary folded out              need the matter
like karibari                        of them their real
a world of screens             there is writing
the deep picture                   on the back of
turns flat                         the world you know
trees and hills                    turn it     turn it
turn to colored                      see it is a page
streaks                            things are written
then meld to                           on the back
a single line                    of the world

…because there is something

another picture waits          who painted this?
almost sinister                    who wrote?
troubling the back                when Humwawa spoke
of the screen                    what were his
a river                         missing implications?
eddys running deep             what did the
along the shoal               Minotaur know
the sound of it                   that Unicorn did not?
as it turns                          that Ezekiel could
narrows to                      not find way up
an evaporant                     in the middle
trickle                           of the air?

…because there is something

synclinic ridge                   screen by screen
only the broken back                   by screen
of bedrock                       and I was there
trying to be                  painted on
spears jabbed                 folded to stand
at the sky                      I need what Buddha
people with dirt                missed by arc seconds
on their feet                   sharing his essential
say razorback                 narcissism with
but they will never                brilliant Caligastia
know how it thins           both Lanonandek Sons
thinnering until               like Newman
from its side                      and von Neumann
there is                     I must pierce
a razor line                      to the meat of them
then none                    for I have none

…and there is something

One thing I didn't do though, and I should have....I try always to give people a warning when I post a dual voice poem -- it's an experimental thing that I do, and some people hate 'em!

I can only speak for myself, but I was glad there was no warning.  I was able to experience it in the moment of SEEING.  As it appeared upon the screen.  Thank you again for the blessing.

Ed...The screen of you is deep and profound, because there is something, because there is much!

there is writing
on the back of
the world you know
turn it     turn it

I can't seem to leave this one alone Ed. There seems to be more every time I read it.
Wonderful!

So many ways to turn
into the corner of this
edge that just rims
the cliff...a wonderful read...
a in motion.

I've read this several times... and with each reading comes deeper appreciation... both for the whole and for individual passages.

However you fold it, this is sheer brilliance.

If it's even possible for someone to hate this (dual poem or not), well then I don't think they quite deserve to read it.
It cut to the core,
and I'm very, very, very glad I clicked a tiny little button that brought me to it.
Who knew clicking could be so fulfilling.

I felt like you caught yer groove, in the second verse, the first had me jumping to make connections tho.

And hey--I can't do this, so I don't know why my two cents ain't in the bank instead of here.

(It's still on the back burner tho...)
