 Forever and Beyond ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ The sun is warm upon my upturned face as I lose myself in the cumulus clouds that sail above me. Graceful, transforming shapes and forms capture my imagination as I am transported beyond my lackluster existence. Rays of sunlight stream thru' patches of cobalt blue creating illusive patterns upon Spring's newborn grass where I lie. I breathe the fresh lakeside air deeply into my being ~ filling myself to capacity with the healing and revitalizing energies. Cares drift away on gentle, yet lofty, breezes that caress my spirit ~ releasing it to fly high among the seagulls. I am aware of my connection to All that is and to All that has ever been. I am flooded with the comforting sense of belonging and that I am not alone as I walk my life’s journey. As I experience this renewal to all aspects of my being, I feel as tho' I could live forever and beyond. “We are borne of star dust, and to the stars we shall one day return.” ~ Linda L. Dowd |

(Loving your little leaping froggy in your last response!), Earth Angel, I am going to Flicka (my late horse)'s grave this afternoon and when I have finished working in the garden I have made for him, I will either sit on Flicka's Thinking Stone or lie with my head on it and I will absorb his loving spirit and as well as admiring his plane tree and his flowers and grass, I will look up at the sky to accept the sky messages he and God and Gilbert (the head groom at his stable who went to Heaven 3 months before him) send me and I will think of your poem and your picture. I am so very happy that your wonderful spirit and all our prayers are restoring your health and that you are going to be around for a very long time continuing to put so many sparkles into the days of Pipsters and all whom you meet. Happy meows, barks and hugs from Tigger (my tabby cat), Daisy (my white Maltese poodle) and me. - Owl PS I am so glad and honoured that I am part of the All that you feel connected to. |

Hi, sky! I'm hazzarding a guess that 10% of my poems are in free verse. For me, they are the easiest to write. I'm not bogged down with attention to detail, form, rhythm and rhyme.
