He walked the arid desert,
he swam the raging sea.
He talked of broken marriages
a nameless man was he.

He climbed the highest mountain,
and walked the babbling brook.
He sought the golden fountain
where youth did take and took.

His hands were large and leathered
from times of toil and strife.
Yearning what he treasured.
A woman not his wife.

And daily he did walk alone
across the forest land.
In search of a single stone.
A diamond in his hand.

Barry,
You touched on a sore spot  with me. I'm still polishing my rough diamond. LOL Let me count the years 64 maybe?

Magnus, I think a good song or poem catches a lot of people under it's headlights. I don't know about everybody else but now I know how those deer must feel. Enjoyed! :-)

Perfection will always be
in the eye of the beholder.

At least, this is how
I read this peace, er,
piece of work.

Well done, Sir.

Okay, the stage has now been set for another of your captivating, gut-gripping stories!

I'm all ears! ~ and eyes!
