As hard as I tried, I couldn't express what I was feeling in these words, it may be due to the fact that I haven't slept in more than 2 days, but I looked out on the new snow that fell overnight and I suddenly wanted to scream on paper how beautiful the world was.

The profound winter spirit has splattered soft snow
across the ground with beautiful crystals, a trillion exquisite microscopic sculptures
A squirrel scurries up an ancient tree
who wrinkles and white hair has seen so many hundreds of these same winters in his long twisting mad life full of mystery,
this old man of the forest with whom I only wish I could speak
I'd talk to him about the immense incomparable beauty
of nature's poems all laid out infront of me in its crisp pure absolutely entirety
and how snow is art that the heavens paints upon the earth with a palette of infinitesimal eloquence
the world around me screams with joy and lies naked in all its wonder and purity and actuality
The crisp smacking air is clinging to my face and cleansing my mind with hypnotic realisations of how angelic the universe really is!

You certainly succeeded in capturing the beauty of the moment Luke.

"a trillion exquisite microscopic sculptures"

Loved that line.. and look forward to reading more of your work!

enjoyed your snow hallucinations

last night, a March rarity for this neck-of-the-woods...wet white stuff covering lawns and rooftops, delaying the opening bell of local schools and making everyone pause in their tracks to remember
we are NOT the rulers

"the world around me screams with joy and lies naked in all its wonder and purity and actuality"

Nicely written in spite of your lack of sleep
or maybe beacuse of it. Either way....
