There can be no answer,
without a question.
No conviction without a trial.
A traveler needs a destination,
be it a step or be it a mile.

There can be no victory,
without a battle being fought.
Treasure is seldom found,
without being sought.

Imagination is a fine thing,
a gift from the giver,
that I humbly call my King.

He said,that it hasn't entered,
into the mind of man,
the love that awaits,
the completion of his plan

And I believe!
Not because some preacher told me so.
Oh no, not me! A skeptic from the start!
Invisible God?
You must think I'm not that smart.

But oh what a void in me,
earthly treasures and pleasures,
could not fill.
I was just another snowball,
rolling down a hill.

The agony of my condition,
knocked me to my knees.
I cried out with all my heart,
"If there is a God out there,
won't you help me please!"

No man proved to me that he exists,
but while broken and shattered,
upon my knees,...I felt his kiss.

Now I still sumble sometimes,
and God knows sometimes I fall.
But when I do,
it's on the name of Jesus,
that I call.

Steven, your poem "The Question" and this one, "The Answer" make a powerfully, dynamic duo!

I am in awe of your talent, your mind, and your spirit.

Hugs with love,
Linda

And...  It is only from the depths and filth of the swine lot, that the prodigal begins to see how glorious his fathers house is.  He returns...prepared and willing to be a servant. And is welcomed as a Son.   Amen Brother.

Ah, dear Steven..

I believe in the sun
even when it's not shining.
I believe in love even
when not feeling it.
I believe in God
...even when He is silent.

I loved your poem..well said m'friend.
Hugs~Nancy

Steven

From a poem of mine, a sort of answer:

"Take these words and all this paper,
these printed exclamations of feeling,
this intelligent question,
this tale of light and laughter,
all these marvelous and exploding tears
and build a tree you see,
to jump from
and see around and over this tedious trail,
to glaze the surface of this day
with delicious and glorious gleaning.

Return to midnight and stars slow circling
and release your full blooming,
for sure   each small movement
is a changing thing that alters,
if only the leaf you cling to,
and dawn will seep into the dark valley
with the reverent and worthy color of hope"

I beg to differ.....depending on the meaning of the two words. You may be convicted without trial, something that's happened to me before, and I'm sure, to all of us.....

....but if you have a conviction, there will most definitely be a trial....maybe many trials.

Quite an "answer" you have got
there.... for the ultimate question.
Well crafted!

Introspection of one's heart
can lead to many insightful moments...

even sighful moments
when truth rings clear.

Steven...look how quickly
with your love of poetry...
you've become one
to read.

Well done, Sir.
Straight from the soul.
