Holden is the Word

04 June 2001

I know that thou canst
do all I ask or desire
That my thoughts are not
withholden from thee

Yet thou has given me hope
and a shield of salvation
With an outstretched hand
holden to my imagination

For thou hast holden me
by my right hand
To guide me with thy counsel
towards the rock over the sand

My own injustices
a natural product of man
In creation holden with cords
a summation of God’s great plan

An understanding of His love
upholden by an unfeigned charity
Thus saith the LORD to those who listen
“I have holden” to open in parity

Although your eyes were holden
in a restraint void of spirit
As God hath raised up Christ
within the realms of an atonement lit

And gifted to be holden an eternal life
made possible through great sacrifice
Who are thou that judgest another
for they shall be holden up in Christ

For God is able to make thou stand
nevertheless this is your choice
A double minded man unstable
in all his ways to rejoice

Be ye doers of the word
beholdeth to thyself
And goeth his way towards
riches higher than wealth

The word: “holden” as featured in the scriptures of the King James version of the Holy Bible
becomes the foundation of this psalm:
From both the Old Testament and New Testament the journey is beholden upon God’s word
from the likes of: “withholden” (Job 42: 21); and “holden” (Psalms 18: 35; 73: 23; Proverbs
5: 22; Isaiah 45: 1; Luke 24: 16; Acts 2: 24; Romans 14: 4). All “beholdeth” (James 1:24)
in a unity of expression “upholden” (Proverbs 20: 28) to God’s glory.

“The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all
the inward parts of the belly. Mercy and truth preserve
the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy. The glory
of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men
is the gray head. The blueness of a wound cleanseth
away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.”
Proverbs 20: 27-30 KJV
