Whenever I get a pimple,
Rash, scrape or scuff,
I spread thick white ointment
Over my troubled surface.

I leave it on through the night and
The bed sheets retain the stains
Of my blemished past.

These superficial treatments
Do nothing for my wounds,
And every morning I am left
Scrapping seagull shit
Of the hood of my vehicle.

One good thing....seagulls mean you live close to the ocean...and that is beautiful!

That doesn't sound like fun!  Hope you don't have a convertible, or if you do, the top is up on it.  No, seriously, hope things go better.  Your point well made in your poem.  Some days/weeks we just step in it and it ain't no fun cleaning those shoes.  Better days soon.  I liked your comparison.

This poem tickled me.

Enjoyed the read
