i think I'll stay in today,
i just don't feel like coming out to play.
i can see the sun shining through my window,
and the blue sky above.
i can hear the children playing,
and the cooing of a dove.
i can see my good neighbors,
puttering in their yard.
i can even smell the fresh cut flowers,
if i try real hard.

On the surface all is well.
a dream come true,
a Norman Rockwell.

It's what lies beneath the eyes percept,
the lost tears that are not being wept.
It's the helpless, hopeless, feeling,
that my voice doesn't matter.
While watching robbers robbing,
and on blood grow fatter and fatter.

Like fishes caught in a net of fear,
good neighbors sacrifice all they once held dear.
Honor, truth, and justice,
compassion, forgiveness, and courage?
For a fittful night of sleep,
and a bowl of stinking porridge?

Forgive me friends,...
i think i'll just stay in today.

Steven....I'm staying in too...sick today!  You know if you go out into the day and look real careful, you might just find something that makes you feel better.  Maybe I'll try that too.

I got this far in the poem and simply stopped....

I wish I could have written it, though even if I'd thought of the words that follow the emotion, I couldn't have written them.

I don't know how the poem ends, and I don't know if I will be able to find out.

Your voice matters.  So does your pen.  Without them, I could never hear you, or reach for your thoughts, and you would never touch my heart.  That would most certainly be my loss.

A pensive mood in this one Steven. Well written. Hope your day was as good as your poem.

Thank You all so much for your kind and thoughtful replys. Sometimes I don't think I could face another day if not for the knowing that I share this planet with people like you all. May our souls be gathered together someday in peace and harmony. :-)

Well Steven this one is different from all the other poems I've read of yours.
So I send to you a Rainbow to brighten up your day...
Very good poem bye the way.

It's the helpless, hopeless, feeling,
that my voice doesn't matter.

No forgiveness necessary... I know this emptiness well... and wish I never had to pull my covers down over my head. *S*

So stay in... find comfort... and hope for a better tomorrow... for all of us! *S*

I'm sorry

I followed a lot through

And I also didn't go out today

I did however lose something in the thread towards the end
