Saluting with misty eyes

There are flowers
Growing in a marble field
At the edge of town
Red White Blue
Planted by loving hearts
Trembling hands
Placing each solitary stem
As their single petal
Brought to full beauty
By the summer wind
Announces those who sacrificed
Because of their resolve
They would bring justice
To those for whom
It was but a dream
These flowers bloom brightly
Thrice upon the year
Spring Summer Fall
Enabling their pride
Yet not denying
A nation grateful
Was an abstract thought
For those left behind
By duty's call

To be merciful to the cruel is to be cruel to the merciful.

Ringo~

'an abstract thought

I so enjoyed the imagery I found in the read of this~
