A SUPER LADY

We’ve lost a lovely, special Lady
Who’ll leave her mark in history
She made this World a better place
Changing a lot of things we just don’t see.

She was a model Wife and Mother
The kind we could sure use more of
Who had Her share of tragedy
Faced it with great strength and love.

She had a courage and commitment
That so few people have today
When the “Rocky road”, seemed impassable
It seems She always found Her way.

It’s only been a few, short months
Since we found out She was sick
A non-smoker with lung cancer?
It took Her life away so quick.

And the worst part of it all
Is the loss to Will, Her Son
Who has a lifetime of sadness
In His life, that’s just begun.

“Only the good die young!”
Is what some people say
And it really seems to fit
On this very sad day.

But surely, Dana and Chris
Are joined together once more
For, they are two special people
Who surely passed through Heaven’s door.

“SUPERMAN”

Though a character of fiction
Who could see through walls and fly
The actor who portrayed him
Has made the whole world cry.

Although he couldn’t move himself
He has changed this Earth around
Giving hope and keeping his
Thatsome cures could be found.

He couldn’t hurdle over buildings
But could roll into your heart
And he knew that helping others
Was the best place to start.

He built a strong Foundation
Using the power of his name
Fighting for stem cell research
That “some people” think a “game”.

But, maybe some day very soon
His dreams and wishes will come true
And then we’ll see and believe
What one “Superman” can do.

I admired both Dana and Chris beyond words. To learn of her passing, is indeed, very sad news. Another star has left this Earth and returned to heaven.

Your entire post is exceptionally moving and beautifully written.

Love & Light,

OMG, this has brought tears to my eyes, to learn of Dana's sudden death. We all thought she would beat this one. Ever since reading  Christopher's book "Still Me" and watcing Dana's constant goodness displayed, I've been convinces these two were icons of strength and love that should be remembered forever.
This is such sad news.
RIP, Dana, you were one of my heros.

Good of you to remember these two wonderful people in this way..
I kind of think Dana died of a broken heart, rather than lung cancer...She and Christopher seemed so very much in-love and inseperable...I do feel badly for their young son, having lost both parents at such a young age..

I, like the previous poet, feel much the same.  Dana and Chris were very much the epitome of soulmates; and I hope that their son will not be discouraged by their passing, although the grieving will be heavy for some time, but will know, in his own time, the legacy that these two wonderful people left for him.

Abe, thank you for this beautiful tribute.  I hope that it attains a number of responses, and that when you feel the time is proper, and full, you will send it to the family.

Because I feel that is what you do...
