We Are the…

We are the star within the star
The very wonder and the char
The changing and the history
The coming of what is to be

I find self consciousness a stage
The turning of another page
The very changing in the climb
The processing of grime by time

It’s really all we have to know
For even stars are timed to go
But cognizance can be a mess
It is to me I must confess

This wakefulness and bring of dream
We are not milk but close to cream
But change has naught to do with grace
And much to do with time and place

I’m ready for this rivers bend
The star I live until its end
