Through a Mother’s Eyes
27 June 2005

Through a mother’s eyes moist with tears
Her daughter was absolutely the most
beautiful girl in the world

With such poise and grace
aligned to her young body
As in ballerina upon a stage
she in daughter danced and twirled

This solo performance - flawless
in that of a mother’s view
And without doubt those
of others who knew

Dance like an angel she could
To see her daughter glide
across the stage - as if
she owned the very
timbers she stood

Her extensions
arm movements
showmanship
and deliverance
Made this mother
look on in awe

Like the first time
as to the last - to as if
not have seen such
pleasure in heart before

So much talent in that
modest human being of stature
This mother choked up inside

Of feeling proud and
honored to be able
to share that experience with
her blood and kin of pride

As through a mother’s eyes moist with tears
in being human in kind and in song
She danced to truly be the most absolutely
beautiful girl in the world and mother
would not be wrong

“Motherhood is neither a duty nor a privilege, but simply the way that humanity
can satisfy the desire for physical immortality and triumph over the fear of death.”
Dame Cecily Isabel Fairfield DBE
[December 25, 1892- March 15, 1983],
a British-Irish feminist and writer
who wrote under the pseudonym of ‘Rebecca West’

Now...
write for a Father...

because this needs
its companion peace.

[Nope, didn't spell a thing wrong.]

Christopher~
While I may not agree with "Rebecca West" in her views of motherhood ...
I did enjoy your penning~
