Penny, fly ‘til you die

Little Penny,
don’t listen to everyone.
Please, I beg you,
shut them out.
You are seven years old,
you need math and science,
not makeup and heels.
I want to tell you something,
and this above all things,
you must remember:

Ten years from now,
you will be perfect as you are.
Your weight will be fine.
Your face will be fine.
Your body will be fine.
You…will…be fine.
Keep all of your ideas,
all of your great thoughts.
Be independent and strong.
You won’t need the people
that bring you down.
You won’t need to wear
mini skirts or dye your
red hair blonde.
You can speak with intelligence
and without fear of being mocked.
You will be fine the way you are.
So Penny,
stick to your guns
and fly ‘til you die sweetheart.

Oh my! This is so loving. I hope your
little Penny flies high! If only we
could hold them in our hands till they
are truly ready to fly.

You will indeed be
the voice of
her reason.

I enjoyed all of this...

now print,
and tuck it away
and she will
come to find this
treasure
in that too soon to pass
ten years...

Well done, Sir.

Thanks everybody...

Lady, I know what you mean.

Thanks Sunshine, I hope she does listen one day.

Jack, we're the same age, that's cool. I like to see people my age writing.

Penelope (Penny) is my little cousin. I'm very concerned for her. She's already wearing makeup and she cares too much about designer clothes and what not. I mean, she's a kid, you know; she shouldn't care about that stuff.

I like this very much... and hope she listens to your wise words! *S*

Isn't it ironic? We spend the first years of our lives wanting so much to be older than we are... and the rest trying to slow the aging process as much as possible. *G*
