i can't stop hiding

My hart beats
Will I think?
Will my lungs
Bring me to the brink?

Of life and death
Without a thought
Through reactions
That can’t be taught

So when I act
And do not see
Can that be
The real me?

Or are we all
Just that way?
When we don’t think
Of what to say

Am I wrong
For letting it flow?
Should I change
Or just let it go?

I feels wrong
Not to feel
Like I’m pulling myself
Out of the real

Making me like
all the same
will it put me through
a life of shame?

my past has been
full of grief
and now I’m looking
for relief

so I’ll change
do it another way
so thing can get better
someday

Why?
If you don't you don't.
There's no abstract obligation.
And perhaps it the best indication
leading to why not.

Change for what?
How often can you air brush yourself
into the appropriate emotion?
