once upon a time
it seemed so long ago
that a lonely shadow
opened his heart
to one who did not see
what he held back
to scared to show her
unable to speak those words
but wrote them down in time
and upon each line and passage
he had shown his admiration
a hidden love for one so precious
but so scared to let it show
and as the fates decided
he must love her from afar
to know that for now
her heart could not be his
but with the passing months and years
his thoughts always seemed to linger
upon the precious beauty
he loved so long ago
and with folded hands he prays
for just one day, she could be his
that her heart he would cherish
and she could feel the warmth
of his gentle love
and held in soft embrace
he may know the touch of her hand
the taste of her kiss
to become lost in her loving eyes
but tears begin to form
longing for the precious moment
but fearing it may never be
but hope guides him onward
as he drifts into gentle slumber
that maybe, just maybe
he will have just one day

Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death.

"as he drifts into gentle slumber

Heartbreaking.. but oh, so good.
