A tomb’s cry fell silent upon the eve
of night as dawn walked quietly through
the window, lightly touching the sill
before falling beyond the edge of
darkness.

If only I could feel that which was seen
and not heard.  If only the cry of dawn’s
cracking were not but a stifled symphony.

There, beyond the earth’s fiery edge, far
into the cosmos where galactic winds
blow cold...where the constellations
loom ominously...that sacred place
where few have ever touched the
mighty hand of God...  It is there that
life looms perilously upon the precipice.

And, when life is but a whispered remains,
let the winds blow quietly upon the brows
of those who stand above that which was
or ever will be....

As always, Magnus, your writing leaves me without breath.

Eternity is caught in your words, "all that was or ever will be."  Does life just blow away upon the wind, or does God stay his hand for us with, "Peace, be still!" ?
