Morning Light

I gaze out my window
Wondering what life has in store for me today
The gentle breeze that meets my face
Serves to remind-the strength inside me that is growing more each day

I brush the hair slowly out of my eyes
As I breate in deep, I'm surrounded by morning light
For the millionth time I think of you
If only I could somehow make things right

Not all is lost though
As I feel my heart begin to smile
What is this familiar feeling?
I haven't felt if for a while

I watch the sun rise
The colors in the sky, all mixing together
Wishing I could freeze this moment
I'd hold onto it forever

There's something bitter-sweet
In letting go and saying goodbye
No longer does it ache to the point of rawness
I no longer feel the need to cry

It's not that I've forgotten you
I surely never will
For the brief moment you came into my life
You made everything so real

I found the answers to my spirit
The sadness now is being chased away
I look at the glory of the morning light
As I close the window to start my day

"When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter"

Enjoyed Aimster! Reminds me of a guy in an old movie taking his first uncertain steps after a horrific accident. Not a dry eye  as were all cheering that his steps are sure. Healing is beautiful! :-)
