Happy birthday darlin’
though I can’t recall the year,
I don’t imagine that disturbs you
very much

Your face, smiling from the dimness
of that pub deep in Virginia
as I walked through the door
will remain
one of my best stories
‘til I got no more to tell

I don’t have much else
to give you, than I did then,
some words, some thoughts,
some heart from my pen

just thought I’d let you know
I remembered
and I wish you love
and everything

Happy birthday darlin’
I remember when...

I really felt these lines.

You captured the intentions of the speaker and I can identify; I enjoyed this a lot

This poem speaks loudly. Well done.

Sigh.

Wish it was my birthday you were talking about so eloquently. I like this very much!

See?  You're such a good Porch Puppy...at least you remembered.

Now, do it again.  If you tell another story, you may just get Konrad to emerge.  You never know.

Duncan, you make every girl want to be the one waiting in that pub..deep in Virginia.

I hear they throw beer all over ya at those bars in Virginia   ...dangerous places!!!

I know she's thrilled you remembered, an unexpected birthday surprise, a beautiful poem, and special, heartfelt memories
