They say love can conquer all;
So, we knew that we would win...
Even though we didn't have a thing,
or a pot to put it in.
Living on Love and distant dreams...
Of a bright and sunny day.
Stand by me and take my hand;
You know we'll find a way...
Hold on...
Hold on...
Together, we can stand alone...
And build a world of our own...
Hold on...

(tick-tock)

Well, I know things don't look the way
they did inside our dreams.
Ties that bind us together...
Are growing ragged at the seams.
Promises of a better day...
I know are wearing thin.
All I can say...
I've said before...
But, I'll say it once again...
Hold on...
Hold on...
You know that it's always darkest
right before the dawn;
Hold on...

(tick-tock)

You were so much younger
When you first gave your heart to me;
And I know I haven't give you
a life of luxury.
We could not forsee all that we've been through...
And we don't know what lies in store...
I know I've said it a million times...
It might take a million more...
Hold on...
Hold on...
I know its been a rocky road
But look how far we've gone...
Hold on...

(tick-tock)

Well the days go by so quickly...
And years went by so fast...
Now the road ahead is not as long
as the road into the past.
The doctor says you can't go on...
Lay down your weary head.
For the first time...
You did not listen to me
when I said...
Hold on...
Hold on...
They say Love can conquer all...
Please dont tell me that they're wrong !
Hold on...

Years of looking to the future...
Only made us blind.
We could not see that our best days
were the ones at the time.
Now my days seem like forever...
And the nights are longer still...
I hear her whisper to me
from her grave upon the hill...
Hold on...
Hold on...
Our dreams are true...
And I wait for you...
Please try to be strong.
Hold on...

Hard to answer this one. If a true story too sad. If a warning we had better heed it and try to carry on. best to you, martyjo

I love the way you tell a tale Uriah. I hope this one is not true. But if it is you have to remember this life is but a wisp of smoke. Peace
