Listening to every heart

0 posted 2006-03-04 05:37 PM

Do Not Think

Remind me, please, that it will be
all right to write
of pursing lips, gently releasing
air through hoop of soapy ring,
    blowing bubbles come this Spring

to let my eye watch iridescence
ripple thereon fine skin so clear
as if within thin sheen
lay some dream
or wish, or want, so near

but do not think
for a moment, no
that I have forgotten
those gifts I know
that lay within this heart, just so.

Remind me, please, that it will be
all right to write
of budding leaves before my sight
of promises that mist this air
of that we knew which once was there

to let green eyes watch ever plain
sounds of laughter pass some storm
which screens sure, sounds ever keen
so blackness isn’t what it seems
     acknowledging, this loss of norm

but do not think
for a moment, no
that I have forgotten
those gifts I know
that lay within this heart, just so

And for all that was,
and will ever be,
holds to this breast a thought, a note,
this love, this light,
     unconditionally.

I remember a parting with someone, nothing romantic of course, but a friend I will not forget, and knowing it was the last time we would be in the same place, because after years of friendship our lives were taking us in different directions, to different cities in different worlds.

Just as I was leaving, I turned back and said, "Oh, and one more thing, Astrid, never forget--"

She turned, expectant, and I said, "That's all....just never forget."

"I won't," she replied, with a smile I won't forget.

" blowing bubbles come this Spring"

At first, I thought it to be a poem about me!

He/he

Very nice, VERY NICE Sunshine, a very deep writer, plowing the sentences, under, churning up beauty,

me thinks  are you such a writer.

very nice.
I'm new, and this is the first one I've had the chance to read. It made me glad I joined.

"to let my eye watch iridescence
ripple thereon fine skin so clear
as if within thin sheen
lay some dream
or wish, or want, so near"

I loved these lines especially; I just was drawn into the image.

Couldn't wait until tomorrow to respond to this one, my sweet SIL!  I started pulling out lines and phrases...and couldn't settle on just a few, 'cause this whole symphony is absolutely full and wonderful!  It fits my mood to night....just so.   ....jo

Oh~ what would it be to blow bubbles, dream irridescent dreams, to watch budding leaves in spring, or to laugh with out memories and friends?  You've penned pure delight!

To watch your gift of words from your thoughts is like watching a new print in film developer solution.  The print emerges little by little, showing your heart.

Sunshine, I want to say everything will be okay, but I know you already know that. Some hurts are to deep to expess, some losses can't be replaced, some lives can't be cherished enough, and the sun will always shine! God Bless! :-)

There is something divine in this writing...I was called home...literally, I had to leave work to pick up an ill child.  He doctor appointment is in an hour...and I came here first. I needed to read this more than you will ever know.
