The Wake of Heather

A knee of lilac heather rose
Above the blankets mist impose
Into a sky of feather blue
To help the mornings touch of you

With rainbow path from end to end
Above the valleys gentle bend
Where dew drops catching shafts of light
Make for me an awesome sight

Each coming of the early dawn
Comes in beauty every morn
With light that whispers like a sigh
And makes for magic in my eye

It bests the very best of dream
This awesome every morning scheme
To wake me with a gentle glove
This gentle hand from up above

It is what I will miss the most
This gift from a most gracious host

mmmmmm... the smell of your lilacs
bring spring instantly to my winter
I enjoyed reading your poetry!

And so, approaches Spring,

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
And it takes beauty to see beauty.
