Some nights your memory won’t let me be,
as if I know you are remembering
little bits of scenes you saved
like crumbs of life you put away to nibble
when you’re alone and sleep denies your call,
like the night I watched you dance right out of your shoes,
then your hose,
what little clothes had made it earlier out the door,
every choice in turn as you moved
silent
languid
mind awash in champagne and your own pheromones,
as each shred of shy hit the floor
I watched your fire climb
from your toes to the knot that held your hair,
until that too was freed to dance
wild round your throat,
all but your hat
which as I recall you chose to wear
like a crown
for reasons I guessed then were much too intimate
to share with simple useful trash like me.

icebox
The mind is like an icebox and some time when we forget to replenish it such things happen. Excellent write.

A beautiful dance which she spoiled by thinking that you are trash and by using you.

That last part about the hat made me think of the Tom Jones song, "You Can Leave Your Hat On".

one mans (lady) trash is another mans (Lady) treasure~

and you are surely a treasure, not trash~
