TEARS ON A ROSE

I WALKED IN THE GARDEN
ONE MORNING
AFTER A BRIEF
CLEANSING RAIN
I WONDERED IF MY WORLD
WOULD EVER AGAIN BE SANE
I SEARCHED THE MANY BLOSSOMS
AND MY ACHING HEART FROZE
GOD MUST HAVE BEEN LISTENING
BECAUSE I SAW HIS TEARS
WERE ON A ROSE
I FELT SO BAD
TO HAVE MADE HIM CRY
I WIPED A TEAR
FROM MY OWN SAD EYE
THE ROSE'S HEAD
WAS BOWED IN PRAYER
AS THOUGH NATURE SENSED
MY DEEP DISPAIR

I TRIED TO COMFORT GOD
I SAID MY TROUBLES WERE SMALL
HE LOOKED AT ME KINDLY,
"NO MY CHILD, NOT AT ALL!
YOUR HEART IS VERY PRECIOUS
YOUR TROUBLES BELONG TO ME
LET ME LIFT THEM FROM
YOUR SHOULDERS
AND ALLOW YOUR EYES TO SEE
THAT YOU ARE ONE OF
MY FLOWERS
IN THE GARDEN THAT I TEND
I WILL SEE YOU HAPPY SOON
AND HELP YOUR HEART TO MEND
MY TEARS WERE SENT TO WASH AWAY
THE GRIEF THAT HAUNTS YOUR SOUL
BLESSINGS DEAREST CHILD OF LIGHT
I CAME TO MAKE YOU WHOLE!"

I STROKED THE TEARS FROM
THE ROSE'S PETALS
LIFTING IT'S LOVELY HEAD
AND AS I DID I FELT AS IF
MY SOUL HAD JUST BEEN FED.
BURDENS FLOATED FROM ME
JOY REPLACED DISPAIR
THE TEARS ON
THE ROSE WERE GONE
SO I SAID A SILENT PRAYER
"THANK YOU
FOR YOUR
HELP MY LORD
FOR TAKING ALL MY FEARS
AND STOPPING BY HERE
LONG ENOUGH TO
WASH ME
IN YOUR TEARS..."

BEAUTIFUL POEM CONNIE, HANK WILLIAMS SR. HAD A SONG WITH A SIMILAR TITLE. I THINK IT WAS CALLED "A TEARDROP ON A ROSE". ENJOYED!

Connie, your spirit and your poem are both as beautiful as a rose.  Thank you for your uplifting poem and picture.

I usually think that I am aware of my blessings, but you have reminded me that I don't appreciate my sight as much as I should, or could, or want to appreciate it.  Thank you.

You said you want honesty and constructive help, so I am sure you would like me to mention that dispair should be spelt D - I - S - P - A - I - R.

CONNIE THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL CREATION ~ AND A PRECIOUS REMINDER, AS I ALSO STRUGGLE WITH REMEMBERING THAT NONE OF MY PROBLEMS ARE TOO SMALL FOR ME TO GIVE TO GOD... AND THAT PICTURE IS JUST SO PRETTY! I SHALL BE READING YOUR POETRY OFTEN GIRLFRIEND!

MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.  I AM SAVING MY ENERGY TO COMMENT ON YOUR POEMS RATHER THAN TRY TO RESPOND HERE TO EACH OF YOU. I WAS NOT EXPECTING SO MANY KIND FOLKS TO DROP BY MY SIMPLE OFFERINGS.  I WILL RETURN THE FAVOR AS ENERGY ALLOWS (I HAVE TO REST OFFEN DUE TO ILLNESS).  JUST KNOW THAT I AM IN AWE AT HOW TALENTED THIS GROUP IS! THIS IS FOR ALL OF YOU:

ON THE ROAD AGAIN...JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

i found a patch of green
under a leafless tree
i sat and watched the sun gleam
until it set for me
i watched a hundred faces
pass my peaceful spot
and thought of all the places
i wish i had forgot
they played like a summer rerun
those moments; captured climbs
didn't think that it would be fun
to relive those scary times
so many sad locations
held rememberances of pain
so many bad vacations
i'll never take again
i guess i never traveled well
i never liked to go
movement always felt like hell
i hated it, you know
i much prefered to view it
the world, inside my head
rather than to do it
to go where i was lead
so here, i get to see you all
visiting through your gates
POSTING in this great big mall
filled with POET mates
many different cities
and countries fill my skies
cause my idea of heaven
is communing with you guys...
AND IT IS ALL SO PERFECTLY PAINLESS!
THANK YOU
