An Angel of Dawn

03 March 2006

Where beauty was
an angel of this dawn
May God bless her in those
deep infinite feelings of friendship

Her life of present - stars to shine
this power of words gifted to light
A fire burning - unknown to devise
within prayerful surroundings Canaan made

Precipitation as to Atlantic waves
this Pacific of Southern Ocean divide
Her heart the river - blood in purity
refined as to an ore structured forth

Upon a current unlike any before
yet favoured in tender eyed being
No vail would enclose her spirit
this beauty - an angel of this dawn

“But the love you gave me will always live
You'll always be there every time I fall
You are to me the greatest love of all
You take my weakness and you make me strong
And I will always love you ‘til forever comes”
Lyrics by Celine Dion - Song: Goodbye’s (the saddest word)
Album: New Day Has Come

POET's NOTE: Ever wondered why I use the Clock as my icon: This was because my time is far ahead of all the world. My New Zealand born days being, the first day of each day the world over, so in that contrast, the date of the above wooks, may look as if it was composed in the future of others in time.

I love this line... of course, I am an old river rat, but that aside.. the river is the heart, and I am never happier than when I am watching her change and flow and give life.
Enjoyed reading this.

in perhaps making a study of my form of poetry. I can be unsure if the line upon line portion can be seen.

How the above line will lead into the one below. However in my case I am using the word "Canaan" to act as a metaphor in relation to Canada.

From that comes the divisions in water, over the distance between my country of New Zealand and that of Canada.

The river extends from the outlet of Oceans and the blood represents water in type of fluid. In this case the vision of a row boat in the river, takes up the ore, in terms of twisting a meaning, through an alternative of spelling.

Then comes the current, while the final part is more connected with a Bible scripture quote, in relation to Rachel and Leah. (thus back to the Canaan or Genesis connection)
