Nell

I met someone today, hair lovely coiffed,
Steel gray to match her manner.
Her hands were tiny,
But her hand shake strong.
More like a "biker’s grip".

Although her hands were warm,
Her words did not greet me kindly.
I did not understand.
I guess I will never learn,
How some people play the game.

Jo and LeeJ, Thanks so much for your comments. This is a long story  about a friend of my brother's. She and her mate helped my brother over a terrible illness and now seems to feel she and her male friend are in full control of his life. My brother is still in a hospital fighting the effects of airborne mold from an A/C unit in the new place he moved to three months ago.  These new  friends  are there for him  but do not now own him.  They have been making all the contacts and implied a close friend of  his should not be a visitor to the hospital.  Long story,  but she is a take charge  kind of person and while I thanked her for all the help they gave and are continuing to give, I do not feel she understands as much as she says she does about the relationship my brother had with  his visitor. Nell thought she should not be there because they had dissolved their relationship. They did that, but not the friendship they had over three years. Nell showed strong signs of jealousy. I was just thankful the lady insulted was not in the room with us when things were said.
As we live two hours drive from my brother and I work forty hours a week I can not be there as much as I would like to be. His children were all visiting from Conn.  but they also have had to go home after seeing all was so far under controL.    best martyjo

It is a shame, but I will not feed into the animosity. Their help is well received and they were there for my brother. I just do not understand the need for saying the things she did. I had to vent it out. Thanks The Lady for your reply.  martyjo

MartyJo,
Biker's grip eh. Good write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Hi Son! Yes she did have such a grip.Comes from gripping the handle bars I guess. I though it a nice firm warm hand clasp until what came from her mouth showed her true colors. Maybe all a misunderstanding.I will think that way until further meetings. best to you kid! martyjo
