Planted amongst the graves of many,
(Like the focus of an earthquake,
Long forgotten,)
Yet not at the head,
Of the one it was meant for,
Stands a tree.
A tree perhaps not yet worthy,
Of being titled such a thing,
(A sapling perhaps,)
Bears golden, inedible,
And quite likely poisonous fruit,
Which is fit for the weary,
Observant eye,
And not the tounge.
During days in which rain falls,
And mud forms unlettingly,
Soon giving way to miserable,
And seemingly mile-deep puddles,
The eager being,
Yes, live, and thriving being,
Provides a sight which is fit,
To take one unexpectedly,
And fully aghast.
Emitting the radiance of a woman once breathing,
A woman who now breathes her very life into this tree,
Nearly cloning her soul within,
Subtley leaving more in her wake,
That was ever imagined to be possible;
And forever it shall stand,
Proud, tired, or otherwise,
Depending on her mood,
Which changes,
Meshes with the seasons,
As does the totality of her being,
Forever, and respectably a part of nature,
Not to be reckoned with,
But looked upon,
As nothing other than absolute.

Thanks for the reply, and the compliment- I haven't seen you around at all, but I'll be sure to look for more of your poems as I haven't caught any yet.

There is an undercurrent..seemingly an unhappiness just below the surface here..like you want to tell us something but need some coaxing...so you go around the block to do it...but the journey to find it is just as zinging...good writing, timing and imagery..thank you
