candles and starlight

those pretty eyes that made me wonder
and dream of a night by the fireplace
with just the candles and starlight
far from the winters cold wind and snow
beside you talking into the late hours
telling each other our stories and wishes
finding treasures within our hearts
becoming good friends
we found a little bit of everything when we met
you have a magic glow about you
i have fallen under your sweet spell of warmness
yet outside my window it is a cool 10 degree's
and the snow falls
with a flurry of grace this evening
it reminds me to take the time to love again
and that beauty is right before my eyes
whispering to me that it will be alright
and that there is time in front of me
to not forget to awaken from my slumber
and to create these dreams and thoughts
into a reality and that actions
are the key and never to lose focus of my goals
she is an angel in a icy cold world
where shadows and deep ends lurk
a light for me in this dark valley leading me
out of the thicket and back into
the fields of green
to where the spring air awaits us soon
and where the flowers blossom and bloom

Same lines for me, Iliana.....along with all the rest! What a wonderful poem!

Outstanding.

Each line here is hemmed in the lace of courage.  Not always easy to let the heart flow out.

I do so enjoy your talent, and the gracious heart that shines in your writing.
Couldn't pick a favorite line...
