When I Grow Up

some days
I drown in my own air
trapped between enough
and not quite enough
don’t say you know
how it is I feel
you don’t
it is all in the knowing
and the not knowing
and asking permission
when I don’t have to
when I grow up
I want to be you
for there is just
so much confusion
in my direction

just some words cut out

I needed to read you this morning so I read this again.

The first time I tried to grow up in this life I was a Guns"R"Us kid, but I think now if I grow up I want to be a Toys"R"Us kid!
