Proverbs 1:16
For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

On this trail
Only evil will prevail,
Nothing good comes forth,
Any spoils
Is useless and without worth,
Goodness will then fail
And all toils
Will be but ash of your home
Leaving you alone
As death coils
To strike you in your weakness
Breaking thy backbone
Plunging you into darkness.

Bloodshed grows
As the children die in pain;
Burnt, bruised, and bloodstained
With dreams unfulfilled,
Beliefs and souls become chilled
As blood flows.
What steps can they take
Now that innocence forsakes
As blood flows.

Gloom

Nodding glumly, gloom.

And it's never how we picture it either.

Glum is right, and sadly this could be the scene in darn near any city in just about any country now.  This brought to mind a particular movie I watched called, Sarafina with Whoopie Goldberg.

You do doom and gloom well sir.
