The world does not want my kind around.
The kind, to leave the beaten path.
You must walk in line and keep the pace...
'else feel society's wrath.
No wanderers , searchers or questioners...
Individuality is a sin.
But...If I had my druthers...
I druther not fit in.

I do whatever it takes to get the coon...
There are no two days the same.
I may labor in fields or piles of dung...
But I shall not play their game.
They promise...POSISTION    They promise... WEALTH
A FUTURE ....securely sealed.
But...if I had my druthers...
I druther never yield.

Society no longer concerns itself...
with the honest, hardworking poor.
Its best to stab your friend and cheat your neighbor...
and gather all that one can store.
It matters not how loyal and true...
How decent and down to earth ...
Today, the limits of your...consumption...
Is how we judge one's worth.

Dont step beyond the guidelines !
Of individuals, we've no need.
The gutters are filled with poets...
'Tis CONSUMERS that we breed !

Climb the ladder...to a hole in the ground.
Our motto... Gather unto Self !
Life is not worth living...
if one should lack in wealth.
Heaven forbid ...that one should show...
that perhaps a bit he lacked.
You're judged by the type of car you drive...
and the styles upon your back.
If you cannot OWN....its best to Rent...
At least you'll make a ... Showing.
Carefully hide the payment books...
to keep anyone from knowing.
Go in debt...body and soul !
Don't forget...You have one goal !
From the cradle...to the tomb...
You must consume !  Consume !  CONSUME !

There are no limits to your wants...
Never content with what you have.
Satisfied...I watch...amazed !
I shake my head and laugh.
I'd surely never trade my life...
For any that I see.
Yes, If I had my druthers...
I druther I be Me.

I'll teach my son to find his own way...
and not to walk in step.
Be an Individual !
Struggle 'neath their grip !
No... it's not a case of ego,
That I would have him be like me...
It's just that...if I had my druthers...
I druther he be Free !
