Lost In Space

My love is gone
there's nothing left but a gaping wound
where the shards of my heart fell out
I let them swim in the sky with the stars and the moon
how morbidly pretty

So this is it
the suburban male legend we call "The Big Alone"
where picking up the pieces is such a bore
and I'm too distracted, missin' my kitten, dog without a bone
you know the tune

I'm lost in space
a pain in the ribs and a funny look on my face
Melancholia in C Minor to make up for her missing grace
oh I'm hurting for her love so venemous
I've got it all in spades, baby
ain't no talk about maybe
'cause I'm writing my blood all out tonight
and I've got no friends to invite
to this lovely lil' exorcism
or is it an acidic baptism?
I can never tell
amidst all this smoking hell

So take me out
show me a good time, I plead to me
look in a pretty girl's eyes,
see if emotions can live there in the Sea of Hostility
hey, what a vivid picture I paint
there goes another saint
fluttering out of the dead shell-like heart
tearing it all apart
at the hands of the female it fell
just feel the weight of the stories I tell...
ain't it fun?

So lost in space
I disappear in the riptide, lost without a trace
I'm your ordinary Cancer boy, the moon pulling the lace
ripping it all apart in my heart, just a taste
of the glorious hurt to come
the slow act of coming undone
'cause she's wringing all my blood out tonight
scarlet just like her hair in the light
that shines so menacingly
I recall I gave my love freely
but it was dead on arrival
seriously injuring my heart's survival

This love is gone
there's nothing left but a black erosion
a cemetery of kisses on my skin
I search for a cure in this emotional commotion
she inspired within me
just as she conspired against me
surrendering any lingering feeling for me
a white flag waving for all to see
at the mercy of a female so very cruel
I got the lead in the play, I'm the perfect fool...
a good time's had by all
I guess

But I'm lost in space
oh me, the pathetic little turtle losing the race
everybody's favorite happily miserable nutcase
oh my, the glory of "The Big Alone" to come
watch me baby as I come undone
it's so, so elegant
don't you agree?

I like some of lines in the piece...especially:

"Melancholia in C Minor to make up for her missing grace"

The length is perhaps a bit overwhelming.

Good work.

Wow that was somthing else.  I give you a standing ovation for making me feel and see your pain.  This should be a song. Thanks for the entertainment.  I've felt the same
way at times.

hugs Kim

"hey, what a vivid picture I paint"

Oh my! What a vivid picture you have painted. Heart wrenching. I enjoyed it very much!
