It's a terrible sound,
That rasping, gasping breath,
He falls to the ground,
Looks a moment from death.
Yet he crawls onward
Not noticing death is near,
Onward is so very hard
Now knowing death isn't fear.
He has struggled all day
He has struggled into the night
He has fallen on the way
Yet again he pulls him self upright.
He must reach his destination,
But not for his own salvation.

the struggle towards the end is always there...even death doesn't come easy. (and of course I am probably misinterpreting you...but have thought about the struggle a lot lately.)

Very good Professor..."He must reach his destination,
But not for his own salvation"
Even as we struggle onwards in death,
it seems as if we do it not for ourselves...
but for others...even the poems we write is
really not for us but for others....
