"Moon In A Black Leather Chair"

The hearth is hot, a fire is burning friendly within
Keeping the shadows, on the wall at bay
The cactus sleeps in watery dreams
Dreaming of a true love far away across a celestial sea
Outside, beyond the window, the moon sits on high
Bathing the shadowy world below, in her subtle, silver rain

To a story book page, in a black leather chair
A fabled knight clad in shining steel
Returning to his love
To live happily ever after
Oh if only it were real

The cactus stirs, up from the depths
comes to wake out of his dreams
Unseen eyes reflect the moons eerie grace
She is more than she seems

Outside my window is a place I go too, for the moon and rain and so many other things with the wealth or my imagination included.

Loved your view!

This reminds me of sitting by a warm cozy fire and listening to the rain outside and the crackle of the fire inside.  This is lovely, a very much enjoyed piece of writing.

Gabe, this is amazing because it immediately made me see a writer looking out the window sitting at a typewriter wondering what to write of.

and succeeding.

tThis was amazing,
you have the talent of taking the words we've felt and writting them down reminding us we've felt them.
Did that make sense?

Well I felt every word you've written here
and I loved every minute of it.

Yes I will be posting more soon.

Littlewing, When I wrote that it was actually in the middle of one night in wisconsin.

I am impressed, truly. I didn't think I'd get such a response to this.

You crafted this beautifully and I loved reading it...the moon with "her subtle, silver rain" -- cool beauty! And such covert "eyes."

What story book pages your poem leaves.  I am enchanted!

Thanx Lee, and you're very welcome.

Gald you enjoyed it as much in your awake eyes as in your sleepy eyes Karen.
