Almost A Crime

We both chose unwisely
with false hopes that
it would work.
Then she played the martyr
and I played the jerk.

Still it was
practically a crime
how incompatible
the two of us were,
and just how do you
fight nature,
in strategy
I'm not sure.

There's no written law
that says you have to be
compatible to say I do,
but go ahead and choose unwisely
and just like me,
you'll become a divorce' too.

I guess some things are not meant to work James, but some people keep trying to put that sqaure peg in the round hole.

I enjoyed the read.
