where the wild flowers grow

I pay homage to you
with paper birds, but
they
cannot fly.
I kneel down before you
in need of forgiveness,
but I
cannot lie.
I feel my heart race in your honor,
and I
cannot die...
Though my mind is spun in circles
and I deserve nothing less than death,
by your hand no less
and I would take a blade in spite
of my own privelage
to live...

If I could change the way the world spins
if time were only so forgiving,
I would simply jump right back
as if I were a magician or a priest,
and even then
the same things
would find a way
of happening...further
forcing us to appreciate our
vengeful, deceitful nature..
we
are
monsters..creating monsters,
the world
is
a vicious cycle...

I hear ya Kaoru, if it were only that easy,
and we knew from the get go we wouldn't
spin out of control.

I really enjoy your intense and passionate poetry!

Yes we have done this to ourselves, that is for sure Meg.  Nice piece of writing as per usual

Even while we speak, envious time has passed: pluck the day, putting as little trust as possible in tomorrow!

You have so adequately defined my mood today--we're monsters creating monsters--I feel that way about my own thoughts at times. I really should avoid traffic jams--for if it's so my thoughts are demons, then yes indeed, today their name is legion.

You have a way of making me smile through the pain, you.

Hi Kaoru, I like the way you are able to look the world square in the eye and still have your say. Powerful in truth!

Wow, you know how to punch with words
and make them more meaningful than most things I've read.
amazing.

are

the world
is
a vicious cycle...

you speak the truth Meg - as society in general, gosh, I just wrote about this, not even kidding.

It is the ones who SEE this that stop that cycle, even if it affects a handful of people.

I LOVE THIS, LOVE THIS, LOVE THIS!  If for no other reason (and I am sure there are many good reasons anyway), the excellence of this poem should grant you instant forgiveness for whatever you may have done!

Serenity Blaze, traffic jams also try to get me very uptight, but often/usually/eventually I realise that if I relax and find something in the scenery to enjoy, I don't get to my destination any later, nor do I use more petrol (oops, I mean gas), nor does my car suffer more wear and tear, nor do I get any hotter in summer or colder in winter, and I certainly ward off heart-attacks and the like, and I as sure as Hell, enjoy the day more.  Try it, it works!  And the migraines will  be frightened away.
